Matrimony

Unity's gift is granted from angels high,
Who dwellith in gardens beyond the breadth of open sky;
Upon starward mural their faces wrought,
In brilliant starlight their beauty caught.

Rare, the chance of two separate souls,
Bonding in matrimony to form a whole,
To find the strength to join as one,
And remain so till the gift of life be done.

Woven threads of love be wound,
About the heart and twined around
The soul and spirit strong,
To form a bond for ever long.

With lady's touch and husband's kiss,
A vow for both, never to be remiss
In the duties and joys availed
From union's moment till flesh has failed.

Ye children of celestial birth,
Who once protected our beloved earth,
Who, with your trumpets clarion call,
Could raise the ranks to March of Sinners' Fall:

Protect these two in their joining now,
And watch for ever their binding vow.
Grant them joy, a peaceful life,
Grant them sanctuary in this era's strife.

Grant them the blessing of fortune's gift,
With your caress: let their spirits lift.
Give them wings to soar beyond the open sky,
To paint their love on tapestries in Heaven high.

Oh bless'd kindred of Heaven's flesh,
Enshroud these two in your celestial mesh.
With sacred power, let their souls be cast
Into one final being to forever last.

Have you ever had any of your work published? It's beautiful.

I love, as with all your writing, the vivid imagery, and your efficiency with words. You don't waste a word! Unlike me! lol

I'm a very cerebral person and am normally not much moved by lyric poetry, but this poem brought me to tears.

Very good, but how come I'm not surprised?

Sometime publish some really bad crap and see if we catch it. <lol>

Excellent as usual.
